Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with some spooky, fun, and creative activities that your little ones will love? Here are a few of my favorite Halloween-themed ideas to try with your kiddos this season:
Potion Play
Halloween is the perfect time to brew up some bubbly magic! Grab a potion kit and pair it with a mini cauldron or bowl, and a magical spoon for a complete experience. For a quick DIY option, try mixing baking soda with vinegar and a few drops of food coloring—it creates a fun, fizzing potion effect! Our go-to potion play kit is from Little Hands and Nature (code: playbake15).
Taste-Safe Bone Dig
Tapioca pearls are a fantastic alternative to traditional water beads! Boil some black
tapioca pearls, let them cool, and hide small Halloween toys inside for a spooky bone dig. It’s a sensory delight! Bonus tip: Freeze the pearls afterward to extend the playtime!
Spiderweb Tape Fun
All you need is some painter’s or craft tape (it’s easy to remove from walls and furniture) to create spiderwebs. Let your kids practice their fine motor skills by cutting and arranging the webs—it’s a simple yet engaging activity that gets their creative juices flowing.
Play Doh Spiders
With just a bit of play doh and some pipe cleaners, straws, or toothpicks for legs, you can create your own mini spider army! It’s an easy, open-ended activity that encourages imaginative play while also building fine motor skills.
Paint a Pumpkin
For a no-carve pumpkin option, try a paint pour! Whether it’s on a real pumpkin or a foam one, paint pouring is fun, messy, and looks amazing. You can also use paint sticks for a unique effect or stickers to keep things simple.
Wishing you and your little ones a spooky, fun-filled Halloween!
